Dainty Dotty P-51D Mustang Print
Lt. James C. McLane
Wingman to Squadron Commander, Maj. Kit Carson (piloting P-51D Mustang "Nooky Booky"), P-51D 44-14798 was reassigned from Lt. Betram to Lt. James McLane Jr. in 1945. McLane named the aircraft after his wife, Dainty Dotty and spent the final days of the war chasing Me-262s in the skies above Germany. The 357th FG scored the highest number of air-to-air victories than any other unit in the 8th Air force with 42 Mustang Aces in total. The 357th FG upgraded to the P-51 Mustang in February 1944. January 14th 1945 will be remembered as one of the most significant air battles for the 357th FG when 55.5 German Luftwaffe Fighters were shot down over Berlin.
This fine art print includes an aged background designed from an actual World War II military map. A timeless design for any decor!
